Tips and techniques from a master
These are two lively, interactive and sometimes improvised seminars
that showcase Mike’s breadth of understanding from his wide experience
in applying them as a consultant, manager, leader, coach,
facilitator and trainer.
The two “7 Ways…” seminars not like other seminars:
Mike encourages you, his audience, to think and create for yourself.

…More from Your People
Management and leadership models
…More from Yourself
Personal effectiveness and self-mastery models..
“Absolutely brilliant!
I took on board everything & have
already started to apply new techniques within the duty team.
Extremely useful & already felt the benefits.”
How to get what you want from business relationships. It is helpful for sales and technical staff alike because, after all, we all need to sell our organisation’s services, products or capabilities.
What are your four crucial concerns as a team leader?
What is your role as project leader at each stage of your project?
How can you handle the tough times?
Based on Mike’s book, Brilliant Project Leader,
this seminar will answer these questions.

How well do you understand the fundamentals of developing, motivating and leading your team?
In a refreshing and practical three hour seminar, Mike will show you a host of easy-to-apply ideas to give you the confidence to lead your team to success.

“AWESOME – style perfect,
excellent pitch & delivered some
practical tips that we all take for granted.”
You can’t make more time …
… but you can make better use of the time you have.

In the 1990s, NASA launched a programme of missions under the banner “Faster-Better-Cheaper”.
Mike will show how NASA was both doomed to fail (why project management theory says “faster, better, cheaper” is impossible),
yet found a way to triumph. More important, he’ll explain the
powerful insight that can allow you to achieve “faster, better, cheaper”
in your projects and your life, and really get more for less.
Think about how it would feel to understand how someone is thinking:
what motivates them, how they like to operate, what their aptitudes are.
In this unusual seminar, Mike will introduce you to a range of tools and techniques that will take you into the psychology of the people around you.
“I felt very chilled out by the managing stress session in particular.
(And I have tidied up my desk!)”
How do the most effective people manage their stress? Learn how to control your stress levels and feel good about getting things done under pressure.

When organisational change comes, resistance inevitably follows.
Learn the six reasons why people resist, how to spot them and, crucially,
an armful of tactics and strategies to deal with them. This seminar covers Mike’s powerful “Onion Model of Resistance”.
Mike offers you practical advice to help you thrive and capitalise on organisational change.
Understand why change often catches us unawares and leaves us
shocked and in a state of denial. Learn how to challenge your own
assumptions and the rumours that can get in the way of informed
decisions, by asking yourself powerful questions that will give you a
deep insight into the changes and how they affect you.
Making decisions should be easy: yet it isn’t.
We often feel ill-equipped to “take the plunge” wondering:
“is my analysis is sound”, and “how much to trust my intuition?”
Let Mike be your guide to these tricky issues and also show you the traps, pitfalls and biases that often lead others into catastrophic errors.
If you never have to solve problems, then you don’t need this seminar…
Otherwise, you may well want a simple process for structured problem solving, some powerful tools to help find root causes, and a set of powerful techniques to harness your creativity.
“Realistic, essential basic tools and concepts that are
easy to apply, very good speaker.”
How to get things done
. . . from the simplest task, to a full-size project.
Practical Project Management will give you an effective five-step process that takes you from the first concept for your project; through to day-to-day delivery; to finish with the essential tasks needed to close your project.
* Practical Project Management is available as an open event: click here.

Risk is an inevitable part of projects – it flows from their very definition.
Hear Mike explain clearly and simply how you can anticipate and manage risk effectively, using Mike’s simple “it’s the key to everything” four step method.
“Very enlightening seminar, will certainly help to
formalise upcoming projects”

Hold on tight
In this fast paced talk, Mike will overview the whole of project management
in just 90 minutes. He will do this through his seven basic rules of
project management and will show you how each one contributes to the
success or failure of your project, depending on the respect you afford them.
